The weed garden


The weed garden – sorry, I mean the wildflower garden – up by the Hut is coming along nicely. Maybe not quite as planned, but at least as interesting:


I’m reliably informed this is grass.


Team Pollinate looking for volunteers and event tomorrow 8th April


There is a citizen science project from University of Sussex called TEAM POLLINATE which is working with growers across the city to learn more about the importance of pollinators and their role in the harvesting of home grown food.

This is co ordinated by Dr Beth Nicholls and she is looking for volunteers to sign up.

Allan Jenkins has an interesting bookplug article on collecting and sorting seeds in today’s Guardian. Actually, an interest in seeds shows a certain commitment to the future, a certain long-term vision; and lord knows the world needs more of that at the moment. So check it out.
